Original graphite pencil drawing of a Bullrush on Arches watercolour paper - 17 x 10" Framed in a black and gold scoop frame to 24 x 16". Drawn freehand from life.
I picked this on a recent dog walk and then immortalised it in graphite. The seedhead has a bushy poker like head that was rendered by many layers of cross hatched graphite. The shadow was added to give the drawing depth.
My drawings aim to show the subject's beauty with a gentle sensitive touch. Drawn freehand from life in graphite pencil on Arches heavy smooth watercolour paper, it is framed in a black and gold scooped frame, signed by myself and is ready to hang. Part of my Daily Sketch series, these are small botanical studies that are from plants and woodland shrubs that I collect on my dog walks or are in my garden. This drawing took about a month to complete.
