Original pastel pencil drawing of a birch leaf on white Pastelmat. I have called this Goodrich birch as I collected the leaf at Goodrich Castle in the Wye Valley where a beautiful birch tree was shedding its leaves. It is 7 x 7" framed in a black wooden square frame and is either ready to hang or will sit on a table freestanding.
My drawings aim to show the subject's beauty with a gentle sensitive touch, drawn freehand from life and is signed by myself. Part of my Daily Sketch series, these are small botanical studies that are from plants and woodland shrubs that I collect on my dog walks or are in my garden. Each sketch is worked on daily over a period of 3-4 days.
