After sitting in my garden sketching birds who all decided they had better things to do I began sketching a bee that was busily working his way around the flowers. Here's my finished drawing of him, you can see more of my bee drawings by visiting my Birds & Bees collection.
Paulette Farrell - Artist
I am a figurative artist working and living in Cheshire, England. I draw mostly in charcoal and paint with oils. I love sports, particularly cricket which feature heavily in my work. I love attempting to capture the twisted body movement of cricketers, particularly the unnatural and unusual positions they get themselves in. I strive to bring to life the vitality and excitement of ‘the moment’ into all my drawings
Birds & botanical studies have crept into my work over the last year as I have developed a strong will to select and work from life and my own photographs. As with my sports art, twisted complicated shapes still fascinate me as well as moments of strong expression. So when it's not the cricket season I collect, photograph and sketch the Cheshire countryside & wildlife.
